From October 12-15, Youth Power organized a dynamic youth exchange in Sarajevo, titled “The Impact of Little Actions,” bringing together young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Denmark. The program aimed to inspire youth to develop and implement small interventions for positive social change, fostering a sense of active citizenship within their communities.
At the start of the course, participants were introduced to each other, the project, and the Erasmus+ program. The training included group work where participants developed and refined their project ideas. One highlight was a visit to the city of Mostar, where the participants immersed themselves in the local culture and gained further inspiration for their projects.
The final day saw participants presenting their project ideas, showcasing innovative and impactful actions they had developed in mixed groups of Bosnian and Danish youth. Under the guidance of two youth leaders—one from Bosnia and one from Denmark—four groups collaborated to address everyday challenges they face in their respective communities. Projects ranged from conversation cards on taboo topics to flash mob organization, all designed to be manageable within the given timeframe.
One group, for instance, tackled the issue of loneliness among young people. They developed conversation cards and placed them on benches around Sarajevo to encourage interactions among strangers. During the final presentation, they explained their process and the impact they hoped to achieve.
The event concluded with a Youthpass ceremony, celebrating the achievements and learning experiences of the participants. This training course highlighted the power of small actions and demonstrated how youth from different backgrounds can come together to create meaningful change.
