Youth Power marked yesterday with a campaign on the theme “International Day Against Drug Abuse,” which is observed annually on June 26th. The campaign was organized for members of the Budi Muško Klub Mostar and all young people who wished to participate in these activities. The goal was to raise awareness among young people about the issue of drug abuse and motivate them to work together in the future on preventing this problem.
The campaign included two activities. The first activity involved a short knowledge quiz about the problems of drug abuse, where members of the Budi Muško Klub answered questions through an online platform. Following the quiz, an educational workshop was held.
Members had the opportunity to learn about the harmful effects of drugs on people’s health. They also discussed how they could contribute to creating a drug-free society and raise awareness about the harmful consequences of drug use for individuals and society as a whole in the future.
In 1987, as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation in building a drug-free society, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 26th as the “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.” The observance of this day aims to alert the global public to the pervasive issue of drug abuse and to call upon all stakeholders at the global and national levels to actively engage in achieving this common goal
