Announcement of Online Workshops on Street Art

As part of the ACT project, Artists Create Together, Youth Power is organizing online Q&A workshops on the topic of street art. Before we introduce you to the subject of street art, we suggest you watch a video by muralist Nedim Obad that showcases spray painting on foil.

In the online Q&A workshops organized by Youth Power, you can learn about the basics of street art drawing, various techniques, materials, how to properly transfer a design from A4 format to a larger surface like a wall, and more.

Working with spray paint is particularly challenging, especially on materials like foil. Due to the wrinkles, you need to go over it multiple times. If you start with the second layer of spray paint without letting the first layer dry, the paint will drip. The process can also be slowed down because the foil might move slightly.

To participate in the workshop, please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/PLfqH3TcmaUgmRMXA

The schedule for the online workshops is as follows:

  1. 12/04/2020
  2. 12/11/2020
  3. 12/18/2020

Each workshop will be held at the same time, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Participants will send their A4 format works after each workshop according to the chosen theme of the workshop (climate change, mental health, basic human rights). Five participants with the best works (as judged by the muralist) will have the opportunity to attend an additional workshop. The best of the five works (based on voting via Facebook and Instagram) will receive a basic package of professional spray paints for mural painting. Each workshop will have one winner.
