Three-day training for youngsters of “Be a Man Club” Mostar

In the period from 11.01.2022. to 13.01.2022 Youth Power organized a training for members of the “Be a Man Club” in Rujište. During the three-day training, members had the opportunity to meet the new Youth Coordinator at Youth Power, and to present themselves and their work in the club. The reason for the training is to develop an action plan for 2022, and to improve the activities of the club.

The youngsters used the first day of the training to get to know each other, they talked about the activities that they did within “Be a Man Club” so far, and talked about possible innovations in the existence and work of the club. Together they analyzed what could remain in further work, what needs to be changed and how to do it. The end of the day was used to better introduce the youngsters from the club to the new Youth Coordinator.

The second day of training was full of activities, and some of them were Innovation Workshop and plans for this year. The Innovation Workshop was created with the goal of club members to contribute to the club activities such as meetings, actions and social networks. In that workshop, it was noticeable that members are full of new ideas that we will try to apply. For the 2022 Plan Workshop, members were divided into 4 groups and each group created activities and ideas for one-quarter meetings. The presentations of the plans were proactive and consisted with many new ideas and activities. All activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles among young people, preventing violence and preventing alcohol and drug abuse.

The last day of the training was concluded with an educational quiz, after which we made conclusions for future activities of the “Be a Man Club” Mostar.

After completing the three-day training, we will continue to work on promoting healthy lifestyles and creating a better and safer environment for us all.

The activity was implemented within the project Young Men Initiative III (YMI): “Promoting Healthier Lifestyles and Decrease of Interpersonal Violence among Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Challenging Gender Stereotypes III“, supported by the Swiss Government, Oak Foundation, Austrian Development Agency and CARE International Bosnia and Herzegovina.
