Supporting Digital Transformation in Local Organizations

At Youth Power Sweden, we are committed to empowering organizations with digital solutions that enhance their capacity and impact. As part of this effort, the Short-term Practice initiative took place in Sweden from September 11–15, 2023, bringing together members of EduLab’s expert team and representatives from two local organizations to develop strategic plans for digital transformation.

Empowering Organizations Through Digitalization

Guided by EduLab’s expertise, the participants—aged 30 to 40—worked on applying a structured digital transformation strategy tailored to their specific organizational needs. The two organizations involved were:

  • NGO YES – “YES for Tomorrow: Youth Education and Support”, founded by Elena Ianonis
  • NGO Language Bridge, founded by Airat Miftakhov

Both organizations were established by individuals with migrant backgrounds in Sweden, making all participants part of a community with fewer opportunities. Despite being relatively new, their team members bring years of experience in entrepreneurship, education, and youth work. Notably, they have been involved in successful ventures such as Yanonis English School (2018) and hold advanced degrees in Entrepreneurship from Linnaeus University. Their backgrounds also include high managerial positions in international organizations and extensive experience in adult education and non-formal education (NFE).

A Strategic Approach to Digitalization

Before the program began, a needs assessment survey was conducted to ensure that the materials, including presentations and strategy guidelines, were well-aligned with the participants’ requirements. The feedback received was highly positive, as digital transformation already aligns with their organizational goals. Both organizations envision a future where their educational activities are conducted primarily online, making digitalization a key factor in their sustainability and success.

Looking Ahead

Participants developed three-year action plans (2024–2026) to guide their digital evolution. This initiative represents a significant step towards building resilient, digitally proficient organizations that can operate effectively in an increasingly digital world. By fostering strategic digital planning, we are not only enhancing organizational capacities but also strengthening the local community by supporting migrant-led initiatives.
