At Youth Power Sweden, we are dedicated to equipping young people and youth workers with the skills they need to navigate an increasingly digital and sustainable world. In line with this mission, we recently organized two innovative local bootcamps focusing on digitalization and sustainability. Each bootcamp lasted for 20 days, making a total of 40 days of immersive learning and skill development. These initiatives were led by two dedicated youth workers and supported by five enthusiastic volunteers.
Why Digitalization and Sustainability?
Digitalization is at the core of Youth Power Sweden’s expertise. We have years of experience in using digital tools effectively in our work, and we wanted to share this knowledge with youth workers and young people. The Digitalization Bootcamp was designed to train participants on how to incorporate digital tools into their daily activities and improve their ability to engage with young people in a more interactive and effective way.
Similarly, Sweden is globally recognized for its commitment to environmental sustainability and social justice. The Sustainability Bootcamp aimed to integrate these values into youth work, helping youth workers, organizations, and young people understand and implement sustainable practices in their daily lives and professional activities.
What Did the Bootcamps Achieve?
One of the key outcomes of these bootcamps was the creation of two draft training programs focused on digitalization and sustainability. In addition to these training programs, we developed a comprehensive guide that includes step-by-step instructions, essential tools, and effective methods for implementing these programs in various youth work settings.
A Step Towards a More Inclusive and Sustainable Future
The training programs developed during these bootcamps are designed to be flexible and accessible, enabling youth workers and young people to learn and work from anywhere. By integrating digital tools and sustainable practices into youth work, we are making education more inclusive and empowering individuals to take charge of their personal and professional growth.
At Youth Power Sweden, we believe that by equipping youth with the right skills and knowledge, we can build a future where digitalization and sustainability go hand in hand. Stay tuned for more updates on our programs and upcoming initiatives!
These activities are part of the “Digital Transformation of Inclusive Youth Work” project, co-financed by the European Union and in partnership with organizations from Sweden, Croatia, Germany, and Austria. The project seeks to integrate digital tools into inclusive youth work on an international scale. By adopting innovative digital teaching methods, we aim to enhance the quality of youth work and promote the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.
